The Senior US GAAP Accountant should bring a background and experience in US GAAP, consolidation, audits and experience with requirements (like SOX compliance) for listed companies on NASDAQ.

The ideal candidate will also be familiar with the life sciences industry.

This role will be embedded in the global Biocartis accounting team, reporting to the accounting manager and working closely together with the Senior BE Accountant and with the Senior US Accountant.

Accountabilities

1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements;
  • Starting from IFRS financial statements as currently prepared by Biocartis;

2. Consolidation and Intercompany Transactions:

  • Lead the US GAAP consolidation process for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards;
  • Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and eliminations under US GAAP;

3. SOX Compliance:

  • Oversee and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) requirements;
  • Develop and maintain internal controls and documentation thereof;

4. NASDAQ Listing Compliance:

  • Manage financial reporting and disclosure requirements for a NASDAQ-listed companies;
  • Coordinate with external auditors to ensure compliance with exchange regulations;

5. Audit Support:

  • Act as a liaison with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual US GAAP audits;
  • Prepare US GAAP audit schedules and support documentation;

6. Technical Accounting and Research:

  • Stay current on US accounting standards and emerging issues related to the life sciences industry having an impact on the US GAAP reporting;
  • Provide guidance on complex accounting issues and implement new accounting principles;

7. Process Improvement and Efficiency:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices that will facilitate the US GAAP reporting process;
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function together with the team;
  • Develop an accounting manual;

Profile requirements

  • Minimum education : a Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance and a CPA degree is preferred;
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance, preferably in life sciences;
  • Extensive knowledge of US GAAP and experience with SEC reporting;
  • Strong understanding of consolidation principles and intercompany transactions;
  • Demonstrated experience in SOX compliance and internal controls;
  • Experience working with companies listed on NASDAQ;
  • Background in audit, preferably with experience in a Big 4 accounting firm;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and precision;
  • Stress resilient and used to working under strict timelines.
