We are looking for a Sourcing Manager who is passionate, eager to learn and an excellent networkerto join us in our Global Procurement team, based in our office in Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium.
About the role
At Global Procurement we have embarked into a transformational journey aimed to leverage our function to generate incremental value for UCB. Our team is primarily focused on upstream procurement, business partnering, market analysis, demand management, negotiation, contract management and supplier relationship management.
Global Manufacturing Procurement is in charge of a spend portfolio covering a wide range of areas such as raw materials, packaging material, process aids, drug substance and drug product sourced from our external partners network as well as facility management and technical investment.
The current context presents important challenges ahead and unique opportunities for personal development with high levels of business exposure and impact not only in development, manufacturing and in lifecycle management of commercial medicines.

manage projects and ensure their successful deployment across the organization.

What you’ll do
- Managing and nurturing selected suppliers’ relationships
- Supporting procurement strategies by providing market dynamics, benchmarking, assessment of competitive landscape and market intelligence
- Managing a diversity of sourcing projects, for which own expertise will have to be developed about various procurement categories in the manufacturing area:
- Handling full Request For Information / Request For Quotation processes.
- Considering the market trends, the competitive landscape and the dynamics around the supply markets.
- Performing commercial analysis of bids (Total Value optimization, business cases comparison).
- Setting up contractual agreements ensuring appropriate company protection.
- Negotiating terms & conditions with suppliers.
- Following up and negotiating changes of scope, including contract amendments.
- Contributing to specific objectives in the area of efficiency, risk, sustainability, etc.
- Acting as escalation/contact point for selected suppliers or specific areas
- Showing proficient usage of UCB procurement digital solutions (e-sourcing, dashboards, ERP…)
- Tracking progress and report per the existing guidelines
Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills
- Master degree in Business Administration, Science, Engineering, Procurement, Logistics, or similar relevant field or equivalent experience
- Experience in Procurement roles under regulated industries (plus)
- Fluent in English (mandatory) and French (preferred)
- A good understanding or a fast learning in the areas of engineering, chemistry, biology or material sciences;
- Excellent analytical skills, dynamic and proactive
- Mindset and behaviours aligned to our values where compliance, reputation and high ethical standards are core
- Great communication skills - ability to think creatively, engage in effective communication and promote change with internal stakeholders and suppliers
