工作内容
A leading suppliers of processing and packaging technology to the global food industry, based in more than 100 countries around the world, with an HQ in the South of Antwerp, are currently growing both organically and through acquisitions. Today they are looking for a Technical Buyer to join a team of 4.
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Technical Buyer will have the following responsibilities:
- You are responsible for the cost, quality and timing (usually project-based - just in time) of commodities assigned to you.
- You purchase technical parts, process purchase advice, launch contests and place orders.
- You follow up these orders up to and including delivery.
- You maximize returns, optimize purchasing processes and bring innovation to these operations.
- You will search internationally for potential suppliers/subcontractors, using criteria such as competitiveness, delivery time, quality, service extension and technology. You may contact them further based on drawings for implementation. You proactively adjust these operations where necessary so that cost reductions are initiated, delivery reliability increases and customer satisfaction continues to increase.
- You enter into agreements with suppliers that you may also visit at regular intervals, depending on business needs.
- You work closely in consultation with other technical purchasers and other departments such as planning, engineering and manufacturing so that the production schedule can always be respected.
- You report to the Purchasing Manager on your actions and results.
For the ideal candidate for the Technical Buyer position it is mandatory to have an engineering degree. You have gained a first experience in purchasing of at least 5 years in an industrial environment and you want to deepen and broaden your knowledge in the challenging environment of machine construction projects.
You work fluently with MS Office and database systems, (ERP, MRP,....)
Fluency in Dutch and English is required.
