We are looking for a Technology Expert in Brussels

A day in the life of a Technology Expert

Your main duties will be:

Controlling that the Data models are well created, maintained and compliant for each application development.

• Documenting the data environment, the current procedures and the taken decisions
• Maintaining and improving the DG GROW Data assets inventory by implementing procedures to keep it up to date and feed it, as well as use it as source for the corporate EC data catalogue.
• Coordinating and collaborating with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors for the smooth functioning of the DG GROW data systems.
• Managing end-to-end data architecture, from selecting the platform, designing the technical architecture, and supervising the implementation from the design proposal up to setting the solution into production.
• Defining and managing the flow of data and dissemination of information within the organization, including the definition and use of reference data.
• Integrating technical functionality, ensuring data accessibility, accuracy, and security.
• Ensuring a corporate data perspective for DG GROW digital solutions, reviewing data requirements across the different IT projects, particularly in the context of the IT Streamlining@GROW program.
• Conducting a continuous audit of data management system performance, refine whenever required, and report immediately any breach or loopholes to the stakeholders.
• Assessing the opportunities for using advanced data analytics in support of DG GROW policy priorities.
• Establishing a policy for the use of Cloud Data technologies for DG GROW.
  The architect must be capable to work in On-premises, Cloud and hybrid production environment.

You will also:

• Provision of expert advice and assistance, technology watch, evaluation studies, architectural considerations, applicable standards, solution patterns and best practices in the specific area of business intelligence, artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms
• Review of Information Systems Infrastructure Architectures
• Development and enhancement of the Data architecture
• Assistance with the implementation of the Data architecture
• Architecture maturity assessment
• Data flow analysis

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge and skills

• Knowledge of information systems infrastructure matters
• Good knowledge of enterprise architecture
• Good knowledge of business processes analysis
• Knowledge of quality procedures
• Technical redaction skills in English
• Strong capacity in writing and presenting studies
• Ability to participate in meetings, excellent communicator.
• Capability of working in an international/ multicultural environment
• Knowledge of IT Governance and operations
• Knowledge of project management best practices and goals
• Knowledge in advanced methods for data analytics and/or Artificial Intelligence and/or Machine Learning and/or text mining
• Knowledge in sharing Data inside collaborative platforms (Teams, Connected, Sharepoint...)

Education
Post-secondary-school university studies (5-year program) resulting in a master’s degree or equivalent

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of specific expertise in Solution Architecture, Search Technologies and Data Science
• Solid experience in Data Management of data for policy and business intelligence projects and/or in IT projects with a strong data component
• Strong experience in IT consulting
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with the design of relational databases
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in enterprise architecture models and tools
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in documentation of business requirements and functional decomposition
• Experience with Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing is an asset
• Participation in large project stakeholder working group meetings

Specific expertise

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in data base design tools (e.g, PowerDesigner)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with a Data Modelling Tool
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with UML
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in relational databases (Oracle, MySQL..)
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with NoSQL databases (e.g. AWS Dynamo DB)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with SQL
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with BPMN
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with Machine Learning / AI
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with Cloud technologies
• Minimum 3 years’ experience with business intelligence tools, e.g. Power BI, Qlik or Tableau
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with text mining algorithms and development

It would also be a plus if you had

Available within a three months’ time frame.
