Job description
TEDxKULeuvenBrussels is seeking speakers for our 2023 April TEDx event. We are looking for thought-leaders, innovators, artists, and change-makers across all domains of human endeavor who want to share their vision and ideas. TEDx speakers are those who imagine the impossible and have the audacity to challenge status quo. We seek story-tellers and presenters who can argue for ideas which can inspire humanity.
Theme: Voyage
[ Ralph Waldo Emerson once wrote “Life is a journey, not a Destination.” We all need to be reminded sometimes to have a healthy balance between doing and being, between planning and letting go, between producing results and going through the required processes. Life’s challenges often push us to become impatient and run from one destination to another. When we take a step back and look at our own journeys, we put together seconds, minutes, years, and even decades. There is simply no reason to rush. From ancient Greek with Odyssee to modern times with The Alchemist, the focus lies on the journey, the experiences, and not the destination. VOYAGE ]
About TEDx
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxKULeuvenBrussels, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxKULeuvenBrussels event, live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection with our community. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
Requirements
· You have prior experience with public speaking in English
· You are prepared with an idea/innovation that the world needs to hear
· You want to share an impactful story/experience
