We are looking for a Telecommunications Engineerfor a freelance project in Melle, BE. The position is Full-Time (5 days p/week) and hybrid over an initial duration of 12 Months, plus a high likelihood of extensions.

Contractual Details

Location: Brussels, BE (2 days onsite / 3 days WFH)

Duration: 12 Months (plus a high likelihood of extensions)

B2B Freelance / Contract

5 Days Per Week / Full-Time

Languages: Dutch at European CEFR level C2.

Telecommunications Engineer:

As a Field Telecommunications Engineer you will:

• Translate detailed designs into machine configs according to known config templates and guidelines.
• After validation, configure and deploy the network equipment
• Independently make agreements with both external and internal employees to carry out on-site implementations or troubleshooting as efficiently as possible.
• Documenting the networks and maintaining the monitoring tools.
• Proactively help maintain the network using the available loggings and monitoring tools
• You are the point of contact for the internal customer for the operational follow-up of the project
• You check the quality and look for solutions if necessary
• You provide technical advice on customer requests and connections
• You take care of the technical installations
• You ensure correct administration by keeping
• the database up to date - you are responsible for configuring and documenting Cisco routers, Cisco Switches
• You are responsible for configuring VRFs with associated routing and interfaces on Cisco routers and Cisco switches
• You are responsible for configuring NAT, DHCP, connections to Rijksregister and KSZ
• You offer telephone and on-site assistance for problems and configuration changes, problems routing and switching
• You take care of the maintenance of Tacacs
• management
• You are responsible for keeping ACLs up-to-date, proactive network management based on loggings
• You are responsible for translating detailed designs the client’s networks in machine config according to known templates

Expected experience:

• Demonstrable experience as a support employee in an ICT infrastructure environment - 2 years
• Demonstrable experience with Switching/Routing
• Demonstrable experience with data center networks
• Demonstrable experience in a similar business context (number of users > 1500)
• Demonstrable experience with the technology in question or a similar technology - junior 1 year
• Higher education (Master or Bachelor) or equivalent through experience

Demonstrable knowledge and experience within the energy sector highly beneficial.
