In EMEAI, Afton has a manufacturing facility in Feluy, Belgium, sales offices in Brussels, Paris, Hamburg, Dubai, and Mumbai. The R&D and Technical Service center as well as additional sales, marketing and finance activities are located in Bracknell (UK). Our head offices are located in Richmond (US).
For our Logistics Office in Woluwe, we are looking for a (m/f):
- Trade Compliance Specialist – Permanent contract
Job description:
As a Trade Compliance Specialist, you’ll join a growing cross regional trade compliance team. You provide substantive assistance and advice in the field of customs matters (and excise) with a strong customer focus in mind. You advise operations, sales and management in the field of customs legislation and procedures, follow up permits (including AEO) and check for timely clearance of various customs regulations to ensure our material flows are compliant and are running as smooth as possible.
More specifically, you:
- Perform audits (including all associated internal and external reports) according to the guidelines
- Initiate and implement improvements
- Support requests for rectification, refund or additional payment and any objection and appeal procedures
- Cooperate pro-actively and think along with the implementation of customs solutions
- On a project-basis, act as support of customs activities and processes
- Are the first point of contact for Customs for questions
- Help develop and provide customs training
- Draw up and maintain procedures regarding Customs and Excise
- Manage and maintain relationships with customs brokers
- Manage and maintain customs authorizations
Qualifications:
- You have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or similar by experience
- Successfully completed Customs training (E.g., Portilog, UA, HEC Liège)
- Knowledge of customs declaration software
- Knowledge of Inward processing
- Knowledge of Excise
- Multilingual: English, French and Dutch. Every other language being a strong asset
- Computer literate: Office 365 & SAP knowledge
- Demonstrate knowledge of supply chain-logistics systems, procedures, and standards
- Demonstrate operational planning skills
