Your Role

For our Benelux organization, we are looking for a Benelux Transportation manager. In this role, you are strongly focused on growth and streamlining our operational organization across 28 sites. You will be directly responsible for transportation engineering and have functional leadership over site transportation teams & TMS experts. As we are accelerating our growth, you will focus on maintaining the right balance between the development of our business, managing our carrier base with your team, and making sure we have top-notch transportation solutions. As this is a new role in our organization, we are looking for an entrepreneurial spirit to drive us forward.

Your Responsibilities

  • You will help form the strategic roadmap for distribution within Benelux which will include TMS strategy, carrier roll-out and management and TMS development. Once decided, you will align within our matrix organization to achieve clear progress;
  • Setting up a central carrier management & solutions team where we can consolidate our volumes and push for strong lead times/solutions going forward. You (and the team) maintain the tactical relationship with carries, manage their performance, understand the trends and evolutions and look for opportunities to co-create with the carriers;
  • As an expert, you will create strong solutions for new and existing customers. This via your own input or through the transportation engineers. This involves both carrier contact, RFQ running and direct engagement with customers;
  • Through the rationalization of our processes, we evolve towards operational excellence and uniformity in all sites. In doing so, you interact with the business owners to ensure we maintain our high service and overachieve where possible;
  • Being the go-to person for distribution within Benelux you work closely with our TMS experts fine-tuning our landscape to meet our current and future demands.

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Proven experience in carrier management and/or transportation solutions;
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills, combined with a highly pro-active approach;
  • Process-driven mindset, ability to translate business sense to IS/IT functionalities;
  • Works independently and able to deal with different levels of management and external contacts;
  • Ideally, you have 2-5 years of leadership experience;
  • Ability to see larger picture, but also passionate for perfect execution;
  • English is mandatory, Dutch is preferred.
