Packaging Zone Technical Expert

The Role

The Zone Technical Expert (ZTE) is a technical specialist providing deep expertise in packaging equipment and systems. Each ZTE covers one or two packaging processes (e.g. Rinsing, Filling, and Closing, Returnable Bottle Washing and Pasteurization, Inspection and Coding Systems, Labeling, printing and Multi-packing). As a ZTE, you will be an expert in your equipment’s safety, quality, performance, and reliability. In addition, you will support the breweries via ZTE/PTE (Plant Technical Expert) network in equipment improvement strategy, troubleshooting, training and contact via external suppliers.

Main Accountabilities
  • Responsible for the safe operation, environmental compliance, quality of the products and reliability of the equipment - through indirect leadership with PTE in the breweries
  • Develop Reliability and Continuous Improvement Strategies for the area of expertise: Preventive maintenance review, Overhaul plans review, ATO implementation(Autonomous operations), CIL(Clean, inspect, lubricate) review, Zone (and Critical) Policies, SKAP. Implement in breweries via PTE
  • Share best practices and experience across PTE community: Maintenance incidents, Best practices Zone & Global
  • Spare parts: checking for spare parts from alternative suppliers, solutions for obsolete parts for a specific machine(s)
  • Capex: define priorities for 1&3 Year Investment Plan and future projects ideas to improve reliability and productivity; involvement into commissioning process for new machines and machine upgrades, as well as new processes, Validate Total Cost of Ownership (TCO); Alignment of GTS(Global Technical Specifications) with zone-specific requirements for new machines (tender for new equipment)
  • Innovations & GTS: be involved together with other ZTE/GTE, from different zones, in GTS alignment for an area of expertise; support in expertise sharing during the feasibility study, scoping of new packaging projects
  • Management of Technical Suppliers OEM: install recurrent review meetings on Safety, Quality, Performance and Maintenance topics; Explore for new developments, know-how and/or alternative spare parts and alternative suppliers
Experience And Skills Required
  • Engineering Master’s degree in a Science, Technical, Engineering discipline or Technical bachelor’s degree with substantial experience
  • Min 3 to 5 years Technical Experience in packaging and/or maintenance
  • Deep technical knowledge of 1 or more specific machine groups
  • Talented to bring structure and focus on disciplined routine execution
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Good communication skills to lead workgroup and for training
  • Languages: advanced English level, written and spoken
  • Digital skills: Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Reporting Tools, SAP
