Reporting to the Western Region Finance Manager, this position is responsible for the accounting, controlling and financial reporting for the Luciad group of companies, which form part of Hexagon’s Safety, Infrastructure and Geospatial division (SIG).The successful candidate will lead a team of two accountants, also based in Leuven, and will work closely with various stakeholders within the Hexagon group.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct management of the Finance team in Leuven, setting objectives for team members, monitoring performance, and ensuring that correct resources are available to achieve team objectives.
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of the company, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, intercompany and financial reporting.
- Take responsibility for month-end reporting for all Luciad entities within the reporting timetable, and deal with associated queries.
- Ensure compliance with both IFRS and local accounting standards and regulations, as well as local tax regulations.
- Collaborate closely with the Project Accounting and Order Admin teams based in Warsaw, to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and other financial transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports as requested by Hexagon management.
- Support Legal, HR and other departments as necessary when Finance involvement is required.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, including the Luciad Transfer Pricing policy.
- Maintain and promote internal controls within the Finance environment.
- Review and reconcile Balance Sheet accounts and ensure accurate recording of transactions.
- Participate in the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting process.
- Work with external auditors during the year-end audits and ensure compliance with local audit requirements.
- Manage a series of tax responsibilities including tax incentives & opportunties, tax position monitoring of the group and annual tax return preparation, in collaboration with the external tax advisors.
- Oversee the group cash position and take the lead for credit control.
- Lead the relationship with the banks, organize and approve online bank payments, and ensure suppliers are paid according to terms.
- Take responsibility for statutory reporting as required, e.g. VAT.
Your Qualifications:
- You hold a University or Bachelors’ degree in Finance, Law, Economics or a similar area, or a professional accounting qualification.
- You have at least 7+ years accounting experience, including experience leading a team, and preferably in a multinational environment.
- You have a strong knowledge of IFRS and local accounting standards and regulations.
- You value effective teamwork and display effective leadership skills.
- You display strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
- You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building trusted relationships with teams across different locations.
- You demonstrate a high level of integrity.
- You have a strong knowledge in both written and verbal Dutch and English. Other languages are an advantage.
