Assignment Description Summary of Assignment: Sector/Organization Overview The GPH Supply Chain organization reports into the Janssen Supply Chain organization, a global organization responsible for supplying medicines to markets around the world. With Quality as their primary focus, this group strives to provide access and affordability through innovation and strong collaboration with their R&D and Commercial partners to deliver life changing solutions for patients in need. The GPH Supply Chain team has focused on providing access to pharmaceuticals. The team is expanding by adding this role to help support the GPH Supply Chain vaccine efforts regarding the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine candidate. Janssen has committed significant vaccine dosage to the global population, including through significant global organizations such as UNICEF, the World Health Organization (WHO), the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), the European Union (EU), and other multilateral bodies. Janssen’s COVID-19 vaccine distribution strategy will likely involve agreements with these organizations – such as agreements with UNICEF COVAX and with the African Union – and individual commitments to specific countries in the GPH markets where Janssen operates. The strategy will require order management of 100+ countries, including filling vaccine dosage requirements, communicating with stakeholders, and dealing with supply chain complexities arising within global public health markets. Assignment Description The Allocation Coordinator is part of the GPH Supply Chain team, focused on COVID-19 vaccine deliveries to the COVAX (180+ countries in scope) and African Union countries (55 countries in scope). This newly created position will be, together with the current Allocation Coordinator, the gatekeeper within Janssen’s GPH organization, connecting the dots between internal (e.g planning, vaccine coordination center, deliver, quality, etc.) and external teams (e.g. WHO, UNICEF, PAHO). On top of that, this tactical position ensures the identification and coordinates the implementation of continuous improvement opportunities amongst the end-to-end order to cash process of COVID-19 vaccine deliveries. Key Responsibilities Allocation Management (75%) Gatekeeping tactical capability, connecting the dots between internal and external teams by blending together a delivery plan: The vaccine volume to be delivered to each country in scope and delivery priorities received from WHO and UNICEF as procurement coordinators Janssen’s vaccine volume availability mapped on a weekly horizon by Janssen’s planning department Janssen’s supply chain constraints (e.g. Purchase Order capacity per day, Pallet capacity per day, vaccine supply availability, etc.) Continuous process improvement (15%) Streamlining and refining the process designed as mapped in the O2C Playbook Develop, propose and implement supply chain strategies, projects, initiatives and activities to support the GPH Vaccines Team strategies, projects and initiatives Identifying and coordinating communication enhancement between internal and external stakeholders Allowing growth & increasing workforce efficiency through best practice sharing from other department (commercial team, HIV, Ebola, other future vaccines) and technological enablement in close collaboration with the IT team Project Management Office (10%) Engaging with cross-functional internal and external stakeholders in order to identify risks and highlight key achievements Presenting potential cross-functional opportunities for improvement to senior stakeholders Implementing the opportunities retained by senior stakeholders Qualifications Experience/Knowledge Required: Team player with exceptional interpersonal skills necessary to interface with external stakeholders (such as NGO / Government, freight forwarder, etc.) and numerous Janssen’s partners (Planning, Vaccine implementation, Order coordinators, IT, Finance, etc.).
