Job Description

  • Control of general expenses including posting of incoming invoices
  • Month/quarter-end closing adjustments, judgement of tax deductibility, VAT treatment and accrual set up at the quarter-end
  • Control of account payable-trade and verification on daily transaction postings
  • Inventory (stock) control at the end of month
  • Verification of the accuracy, completeness and consistency of accounting book
  • Monthly and quarterly accounting closing, checking of profit & loss per Business Department using various reports from SAP/DWH
  • Support and advice to Business Department manager or assistants related to business process and accounting/tax treatment
  • Provide Gross profit and other reports to General Managers of Business Dept, support them to find the cause of variance and give suggestion
  • Study and resolve any ad hoc issues relating to accounting/tax.

The Successful Applicant

  • 1-3 years of experience as an Accountant
  • English is mandatory + French is preferable, speaking Dutch is an asset.
  • Open mindedness and bilateral communication skill to co-work with related parties smoothly is very important
  • Flexibility and working as a team-player
  • Proactive approach
  • Numerical and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of Belgian GAAP and basic knowledge of VAT
  • International trading knowledge (Incoterms, payment terms, etc) is a plus
  • Basic IT skills including Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint
  • Accounting Systems skill - SAP (ECC) is preferable
