Our client is seeking a proactive and structured Application Support Engineer with a strong service mindset to ensure the continuity and optimization of IT production applications. You’ll be central to monitoring incidents, managing software releases, coordinating batch processing, and supporting end users, both technically and functionally. This role bridges IT operations and business continuity, contributing directly to the client’s core service stability.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the first and second line of support for IT incidents and user-reported issues in a complex production environment
  • Investigate, resolve or escalate IT incidents related to business-critical applications
  • Follow up on software bugs: document issues, liaise with internal and external developers, and prioritize fixes
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders during incident resolution and critical situations
  • Coordinate new software installations and release procedures, including running and updating release scripts and documentation
  • Perform and monitor batch executions in both production and test environments
  • Assist with project activities and competence centers, bringing operational insights into project requirements
The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds a Bachelor’s degree in IT or economics with strong IT affinity, or has equivalent hands-on experience
  • Has at least a first experience in IT support or service management, ideally in a production-focused setting
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess incident impact and urgency
  • Able to work independently and make informed decisions under pressure
  • Excellent communicator, capable of documenting processes and providing clear user guidance
  • Proactive, critical thinker with a keen eye for process improvement
Technical Skills

  • Solid understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, and database environments
  • Strong knowledge of T-SQL and SQL for troubleshooting and analysis
  • Experience with IT monitoring tools and debugging techniques
  • Familiarity with batch processing and business/IT process flows
  • Competent in Microsoft Office suite
Practical

  • You are fluent in Dutch and have a very good knowledge of French and English
  • You’re able to work onsite, combined with up to 3-4 days of teleworking
