Application Tester/Test Coordinator

General description

The Application Tester ensures the quality of new functionalitiesin applications, by executing exhaustive tests, following the defined test strategy for the project and by using state-of-the-art test tools. He will ensure the quality of existing functionalitiesby executing non regression tests. He will report any difference on expected results to the development teams.

Main Activities
  • read, analyze and review all the project documents
  • design and write test-scripts, based on received documents
  • execute the test-scripts
  • Create and document the issues (defects)
  • undertake the close follow-up of the correction of the defects
  • closely collaborate with development teams
  • Maintain the reference database of tests for the future releases of his application (non regression tests)
  • Support external customers during their acceptance test phases
  • Will be involved in maintenance phase for bugs discovered in production systems (reproduce, test corrections…)
The Test Coordinator ensures the quality of the E2E services/solutions, by defining the test strategy of the project. He will evaluate the quality, costs and timings based on the project scope, project studies and customer requirements.

He will describe the scope of the tests, the different test phases to follow, the stakeholders involved, the needs in terms of staffing, infrastructure and materials.

He will follow all test activities and will report to the Project Manager.

Main activities
  • Write the Master Test Plan (Test Strategy for the project)
  • Plan, lead, follow-up and coach the test resources assigned on the project
  • Respect allowed budget and committed milestones
  • Follow blocking issues.
  • Propose workarounds to speed-up execution of the tests.
  • Write audit reports, including risks assessment
  • Validate the test-scripts written by Application Testers and the test results
  • Ensure the end-to-end test coverage
  • Determine regression tests set at end of the project cycle for next non-regression readiness
  • Ensure training and project knowledge handover for non-regression and maintenance purposes.
Specific context of this open position
  • A cross country environment between Belgium & Switzerland to assure the quality of the deliveries done on both sides.
  • Close collaboration with the different test, development and project management teams is crucial in this international context.
  • You’ll work on test environments that run cashless payment solutions used by international stakeholders.
Working environment
  • You will be working in highly motivated teams speaking a colorful mix of Swiss German, French, English and Dutch. In the Testing Team we’re responsible for supporting Test activities for our internal and external customers worldwide.
  • The team is located in Switzerland, Belgium and Italy.
  • We strive to help to analyse issues, support certifications and End2End Tests for our customers in the international cashless payment business.
  • Our services are not tolerant of downtime, high availability is in our DNA.
Who we are looking for
  • UNIX- and SQL-Database knowledge
  • Know-how of “Cashless payment” methods is an advantage
  • Good English.
  • Dutch/French/german knowledge is an advantage

  • Profile
    • Bachelor or Master in Computer Science
    • 2-3 Years experience as a Software Engineer or Software Tester
Working location

Located in Belgium together with the Belgian Test department.
