Hobson Prior are currently seeking for an Associate Scientist In Vivo to join a brilliant pharmaceutical corporation on a contract basis located in Antwerp. Our client is focused on forming a community where disease is a thing of the past.

Key Responsibilities
  • For this role, you will uphold details and coordinated experimental documents and stay compliant on all pertinent training needs both internally and externally.
  • Assist the discovery biology team with experimental set-up, assay optimisation, analyse data using suitable statistical tactics and planning data for presentation-prompt formatting.
  • Perform strategies of in vivo experimentation, which involves tumor implantation, dosing, proper management of chemotherapeutics, tumor measurements, health monitoring, and data gathering and analysis.
  • To assess efficiency of both intra-tumoral and systemic interventions, you will support the design, implementation, comprehension and documentation for in vivo syngeneic tumor model studies.
  • Any other assigned duties.

  • Capable of managing multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Fluency in the English language with communication skills both verbally and in writing.
  • Learning dexterity with the ability to operate across projects would be beneficial but not essential for the role.
Requirements
  • Educated to a degree level in a lie science discipline such as Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Tumor Immunology, with at least 3 - 5 years of experience in a pertinent laboratory role within a biotech or academic environment. OR educated to a Master’s degree with experience in a pertinent pharmaceutical or biotech environment.
  • Acquaintance with animal management in oncology-pertinent rodent models, for example: subcutaneous and orthotopic tumor implantation techniques and dosing, proper management of therapeutics, tumor measurement, health monitoring, and data collection and analysis.
  • Previous involvement in adhering to animal welfare and compliance guidelines.
  • Able to manage drug administration through subcutaneous, intraperitoneal, intravenous tail vein injections and oral gavage. As well as blood gathering by tail vein, saphenous vein and cardiac puncture.
  • Capable of conducting animal autopsy/dissection, as well as microsurgery, perfusion and tissue collection.
  • Familiarity with cell culture of cancer or immune cells would be ideal.
  • Prior involvement with bioluminescent imaging, flow cytometry, IHC, ELISA would be advantageous for the role.
  • Might be needed to work weekends, evenings and holidays on occasion.
  • Accredited certification in laboratory animal research training courses such as by the Federation of Laboratory Animal Science Associations (FELASA category B or C), or a similar certification from a foreign federation.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and Graphpad Prism.
