The category manager we are looking for drives and implements strategic planning and category management for a group of categories connected to support departments (ICT, Communication & Marketing, Travel, etc.). This role builds and secures up-to-date market knowledge and defines category strategies. Is responsible for sourcing, negotiation and overall supplier management for large volumes and/or complex processes.

Your responsibilities

  • Develop strong partnership with support departments becoming their preferred partner for all matters related to sourcing, supplier management and contract management;
  • Lead the assessment of his categories to understand the requirements, together with opportunities and priorities;
  • Lead cross-functional teams with focus on early involvement of business & functional stakeholders;
  • Directly involved in the definition of the category strategy and implementation of next steps with business stakeholders and sponsors;
  • Conduct market research (knowledge of suppliers, state-of-the-art technology, etc.);
  • Manage RFx, tenders, select suppliers, conclude and maintain framework agreements;
  • Develop and sustain supplier relationship with key suppliers in order to realize TCO optimization;
  • Centralizes category experience, methodology and category strategy implementation, incl. related documents;
  • Supervise the operational execution of the frame agreements according to the defined process.

Your profile

  • Master’s degree or equal by experience;
  • Indirect categories experience;
  • Experience in the following categories are a plus: intellectual property service providers, IT services & goods, Marketing & Communication services, Travel services, ...
  • Strategic sourcing process experience and TCO mindset;
  • Negotiation experience and skills;
  • Stakeholders’ management experience and skills;
  • Experience with change management;
  • Excellent communication skills.
