As a Category Manager(Marine Equipment & Services) for DEME Group, you will drive and implement strategic planning and category management within our corporate Procurement. In this position, you will secure up-to-date market knowledge and be responsible for sourcing, negotiation, and overall supplier management. You will report to the Lead Category Manager of Shipyards and Machinery Equipment.

Your responsibilities

  • You develop and deploy vision and strategy;
  • You lead a team of 4 Category Buyers executing sourcing activities and concluding agreements;
  • You lead cross-functional teams with focus on early involvement of business & functional stakeholders;
  • You are accountable for the implementation, communication & optimization of framework agreements;
  • You develop and sustain supplier relationship with key suppliers in order to realize TCO optimization;
  • You ensure compliance with sourcing procedures and contract management;
  • You identify end-to-end opportunities within the DEME supply chain and report these to the Lead Category Manager;
  • You ensure the correct documents are being used (ITT/ RfQ , contract/PO, NDA’s, etc.).

Your profile

  • You hold a Master’s degree with relevant experience within strategic procurement (or within a commercial role) and contract negotiations;
  • You have experience with leading teams and people management;
  • You have relevant experience in category management, strategic sourcing, and stakeholder management;
  • You have excellent analytical capabilities and presentation skills (efficient usage of MS Office Excel and Powerpoint);
  • It’s a plus, if you have relevant technical and/or commercial experience within the ship repair industry;
  • You are fluent in English, and knowledge of Dutch & other languages is an asset;
  • Your soft skills: Entrepreneurial spirit, team builder, team player, positive attitude, hands-on mentality, drive for ownership and results and high level of integrity;
  • You have a drive for ownership and results;
  • You are motivated to work in a dynamic and international environment.
