Location

Preferred locations are Vilvoorde (Belgium) or Gouda (Netherlands). Remote working from locations across Europe can be considered – in that case occasional travel to Belgium and the Netherlands will be required.

The Industrial Chemical Regulatory Specialist will provide subject matter expertise with chemical regulatory compliance, chemical management and industrial product stewardship for products with bio industrial and industrial applications.

Key Accountabilities

  • Monitor, assess and document business impacts, resolve actions and communicate to partners changing or emerging product stewardship and chemical regulatory laws and regulations with an action plan for deployment and implementation of actions working with teams
  • Provide expertise and knowledge of existing and emerging global chemical regulations, their applicability and analysis for chemical regulations in different regions
  • Provide required country specific substance registrations, reporting, notifications and dossier development where products may be distributed and sold to support new product development and launch as well as growth of existing products.
  • Perform research and critical review of chemical, biochemical and general toxicology, safety data and literature and compile reports and notifications to governmental agencies
  • Deliver chemical regulatory, product stewardship and training to the business, technical teams and customers
  • Participate in advocacy efforts within significant trade organizations, product panels and product environmental safety groups as necessary to elevate and support the company’s position with innovation, development and compliance efforts
  • Work with other regional chemical regulatory and product stewards to coordinate compliance requirements as applicable I-PB1

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience
  • Experience with regulatory monitoring/scientific data tools such as chemical watch, 3E Insight for Chemicals, Sci-finder, QSARs and other similar tools
  • Experience with read-across and getting substance level information on tox/eco-tox, OELs, in-vivo, in-vitro studies and other hazard classification data from databases such as ECHA, EPA and other agencies as applicable.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active participation in international chemical trade associations
  • REACH experience in other countries beyond the European Union
