What does this job entail?

The asset management team at KBC develops and manages investment funds and portfolios for institutional clients as well as for private clients. It goes without saying that we do this in a way that’s compliant with laws and regulations. As a Compliance Advisor, you play a large role in that.

Compliance is a crucial part of our company culture. Besides anti-money laundering activities, it also entails the protection of investors, privacy & data protection, the prevention of market abuse, ethics & fraud, as well as investment restrictions like international embargos. Matters of importance.

You join an international team of compliance advisors and investigators, that reports directly to the Chief Risk Officer of KBC Asset Management.

What do we expect from you?

  • Your main focus is to advise business stakeholders on what to do in order to be compliant. You do this, based on the results of controls on the regulation. This way you prevent KBC Asset Management from suffering damage (financial loss, integrity risk, reputational risk, sanctions,…) resulting from failure to respect standards, legislation and circulars of the competent authorities.
  • You participate in important internal projectsand strategic initiatives.
  • You contribute to raising awareness in our organisation about compliance topics.
  • You’re in frequent contact with our foreign entities.

Your key strengths?

  • Thanks to a minimum of 3 years of experience in compliance in the financial sector, you have good knowledge of investment products and related regulations (Belgian and EU).
  • You communicate assertively and effectively in English. If you can do the same in Dutch or French, that’s a nice plus.
  • You have a methodical approach. No issue for you whatsoever to organise your work efficiently.
  • Have experience with SimCorp Dimension or other tools used in asset management? That’s a great asset, but not a must.
