We are looking for a Customs Project and Business Development Manager to join our Customs department.

Your Role

The Customs Project and Business Development Manager leads, coordinates and supports the customs projects including joining and taking leading role in RFQ’s with customs requirements.

Your Responsibilities

  • To manage customs projects (implementation new customers, process changes existing customers, customs process change) primarily in CL sites in order to ensure successful process change and customer implementation
  • Identify new business opportunities and close them with the sales owner.
  • Work strategically with KN teams to identify gaps in process and define improvement plan
  • To develop strategic target account plans based on improvement plans.
  • Respond to RFQ or RFI inquiries pertaining to customs brokerage enquiries for transport-related and stand-alone customs business.
  • Review opportunities for existing KN customers who are currently not taking advantage of the KN customs service and/, or other customs consulting services.
  • Develop, maintain and deliver all periodical internal reporting concerning account activities (pipeline, volumes).
  • Work conform the KN QSHE and Compliance guidelines and procedures

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Min 5 years of experience in Logistics, Industry and/or Customs Brokerage (min 5 years in leadership roles)
  • Business Process Improvement, Implementation, or similar experience driving complex projects with multiple work streams and stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of the customs market and experience in customs brokerage, legal, regulatory compliance, or related experience desirable.
  • Understanding of customs, operational and financial management aspects.
  • Excellent interpersonal, project and time management skills, including ability to direct multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in working in cross-functional & geographically dispersed teams, and being a self-starter.
  • Solid analytical skills with ability to solve problems and develop creative solutions.
  • Strong computer skills and technology acumen; includes latest technologies (RPA, OCR…) & applications (XLS., databases, presentations), MS Office and advanced knowledge of Customs Brokerage software
  • Advanced knowledge Dutch and English : speaking and writing
  • Knowledge of supply chain engineering a plus.
