The job of (SR) Data Scientist consists mainly of setting up the appropriate models and processes to run our Revenue Management products, and to answer ad-hoc questions from clients & our consultants in the context of Revenue Management / Marketing & Sales Modelling.

Some examples of modelling are:

1) Statistical / econometric / marketing modelling:

  • Modelling on market sales data / predominantly FMCG (fast moving consumer goods industry), electronics, telco, et. Both Brick & Mortar sales data, and online sales data (e.g. Amazon).
  • Predictive and prescriptive modelling / baseline regression models / baseline forecasting models / price elasticity models
  • Driver analysis: baseline decomposition models / uplift decomposition models

2) Product & process design in the context of:

  • Promotional effectiveness
  • Price elasticity and price pack architecture
  • Marketing mix modelling
  • Sell-in & sell-out prediction models
  • Etc.

As part of the job, the (SR) Data Scientist will also contribute towards:

  • The data architecture (of large and small datasets),
  • Data processing solutions,
  • Data mining solutions

The function of (SR) Data Scientist is predominantly an internal function that works in close collaboration with other Data Scientists within the team (for sharing & learning relevant know-how), other Data Experts on the project side, as well as Business Analysts and Consultants.

Therefore, Project management & collaboration skills, both in terms of recurrent projects and development projects, are a strong plus for junior levels, and required for senior levels.

Your profile:

1) Technical skills:

  • High proficiency in programming in R. Knowledge of SQL or other programming languages is a plus.
  • High proficiency in statistical methods, including classic regression models (parametric, non-parametric, linear, non-linear), and machine learning (plus point).
  • Knowledge of dataset architectures / process architectures (plus point).

2) Certifications - Education - Experience:

  • Advanced courses in statistics / econometrics / marketing modelling / other studies with focus on statistics (e.g., as part of an advanced Masters or PHD degree).
  • 4+ Years of Business experience in Research experience (PHD).
  • Any external technical certifications are a plus, e.g., programming language trainings etc.

3) Language skills:

  • English at working level proficiency.
  • Other languages are a plus.
