MAIN TASKS:
o Develop algorithms and machine learning solutions based on the Ampacimon’s proprietary data and third parties, integrated into software platforms.
o Perform research and model work on topics such as electrical grid asset condition monitoring, grid operation and faults management.
o Define and develop real world applications on defined business areas in collaboration with other departments, customers and research or commercial partners.
o Design, implement and optimize domain-specific AI/ML algorithms, leveraging our sensor data and additional sources of data (remote sensors, weather providers, customers own data (SCADA/Substation/maintenance records and logs), and drive their integration into software platforms.
o Bring in and continue to develop unique domain knowledge on physical and electrical infrastructure assets. Abreast with research field work, can relate academic insights into practical, applied engineering solutions.
o Turn quickly innovative applications ideas into MVPs. Analyze company proprietary data and third parties, visualize data sets for data insights, build appropriate data models and demonstrate the technical relevance of his/her work.
o Advise the CTO/R&D Team on data driven solutions and data platforms architecture;
o Support our software development frameworks with sample algorithms and libraries;
o Provide technical support to customers and internal departments.
PROFILE:
o PhD in Physics (Applied Physics, Civil Engineering, Materials Reliability), Electrical Engineering (Power Systems), or other relevant applied engineering higher-level education.
o 5+ years of experience on research and model of physical events, interpreting data sets and results, and applying appropriate stochastic models.
o Hands-on usage of variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and improving algorithms performance.
o Good knowledge of English
o Domain knowledge on reliability engineering (aging, lifetime estimation, failure analysis, asset management techniques), electrical and physical phenomena’s characterization, grid modeling and operation.
o Experience creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks.
o Experience querying databases, using webservices and statistical computer languages: Python, R, SQL.
o Experience working with and creating data architectures.
o Working experience in C/C++, Java.
o Working experience in SCADA systems and energy sector applications is an asset.
o Project management skills (Agile methodology preferred)
o Ability to work in an international environment and remote teams.
o Pragmatic and results oriented.
o Willing to learn new technologies and work on different tasks.
o Comfortable with troubleshooting and debug activities.
