We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to lead and contribute to a wide range of high-impact projects involving

  • Security analytics to enhance passenger and infrastructure safety
  • Punctuality optimization through predictive modeling and real-time data
  • Energy consumption analysis to support our sustainability goals
  • Generative AI applications to explore new frontiers in operational efficiency

As the scientific reference for our experienced team of data scientists, you will provide strategic guidance, ensure methodological rigor, and foster innovation across all projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of advanced data science solutions using Machine Learning, deep learning, and GenAI techniques
  • Act as a mentor and scientific authority for a team of skilled data scientists
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, IT, and sustainability
  • Translate complex business challenges into data-driven solutions
  • Ensure best practices in model development, validation, and deployment
  • Drive the adoption of cutting-edge tools and methodologies within the team

Requirements

Conformity criterium:

  • PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics or AI field
  • 10+ years of experience in data science, with a strong track record in both academic research and industrial applications
  • Proven track record in research within the Data Science and AI field: you have academic publications in the field.
  • Proven expertise in Azure cloud services and Databricks (including Spark, MLflow, Delta Lake, etc.): You are capable of setting up a data platform for a data science project and have it run several models in production on.
  • You have proven record of implementing Machine Learning, statistical modeling, and GenAI techniques to support companies in their decision making.
  • You have experience in bringing the models you create in production.
  • You have already used complex network in industrial context
  • You have worked in the railway sector for at least one year.
  • Fluent in English
  • You can come to the office on Tuesday and Thursday

Evaluation criterium:

  • Knowledge of required programming languages
  • Knowledge of the Azure environment for Advanced analytics
  • Knowledge of the railways business
  • Knowledge of the different data science techniques
  • Level of experience bringing ML and AI models to production
  • Capacity to translate complex business problems into actionable solutions based on Advanced Analytics techniques
  • Communication and presentation skills
