Our R&D Advanced Innovation – HW Technology Platform Department is currently looking for an Analog ASIC Engineer in our office in Mechelen.

You will join a global team of skilled and very passionate engineers. Specification, design, prototyping, characterisation and verification of ASICs and electrical hardware for hearing implant systems compliant with quality, regulatory and manufacturing requirements. You will take ownership of electrical work packages within projects and be accountable for progressing and reporting on these, taking initative to resolve issues or escalate where needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyse user needs based on cross-functional inputs (systems, firmware, electrical) and translate these to ASIC requirements
  • Identify and investigate solutions to requirements and problems
  • Understand interdependencies between ASIC design blocks and between ASICs within a platform, and provide relevant input and guidance to design partners
  • Interface with and support ASIC design partners.
  • Combine your ASIC analog design expertise with cross-functional inputs from internal colleagues to ensure optimal design trade-off decisions are made.
  • Interpret and review reports delivered by foundries to take decisions based on test and characterisation outputs (such as ATE)
  • Develop, review and execute test plans, test protocols and reports for verification of ASICs against specifications under various environmental conditions and across process corners
  • Identify, understand, and develop requirements for test environments (custom and off-the-shelf electrical hardware, measurement equipment, Python framework ….)
  • Follow all applicable development processes and methodologies. These may be part of internal policies, applicable international standards, applicable regulatory requirements and/or specific team processes. Where needed suggest improvements to current V&V processes and procedures
About You
  • Electrical Engineering Master or Professional Bachelor degree
  • At least 3 years of analog and mixed-signal ASIC design experience
  • A deep understanding of analog circuits and components
  • Knowledge of ASIC system partition and interface aspects
  • Experience of working with foundries and test house
  • Pragmatic problem solver of difficult problems and producer of solutions outside the standard procedure
  • Team worker with strong drive for achievement and quality
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills.
