Job Description

The Automation/Electrical Engineer is responsible to develop and implemented program for PLC and HMI for our industrial process according to TFL standards and good engineering practice.

He will be involved in automation and electrical project design, PLC program, contractor’s quotation evaluation and follow up , supervision of erection activities on site, commissioning and testing of PLC program.

He will be responsible of the follow up of contractor working on the PLC/HMI programing part in our project.

He will write technical specification for automation part of the project but also develop the required test sheet needed for Factory acceptance test and Commissioning on site

He will take part with process team to the Factory acceptance test of the PLC program but also to commissioning activities on site.

The following profile is required for the role:
  • Master’s degree in Automation Engineering or related field
  • 05-10+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry or equivalent
  • Bilingual French and English. Written and oral fluency in English is required. Additional languages are an added value.
  • Ability to perform frequent travel representing 30%-50%
  • Requires domestic and international travel
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience with computerized control systems and programs, their use, configuration and programming.

The following knowledge and Skills are required for the role:
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand documents such P&IDs, electrical drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, plans and specifications
  • Ability to implemented Siemens PLC program by using TIA portal software
  • Ability to implemented HMI supervision tool by using Cimplicity software or WinCC or similar tool
  • Ability to implemented simulation scenario for PLC program development by using SIMIT software
  • Ability to perform Sinamics VFD Configuration by using Startdrive or TIA portal software tool
  • Ability to design and selected the right sensor or instrument based on the application
  • Ability to design an Industrial communication Network from field instrument up to the control room
  • Knowledge of Industrial communication protocol such as Profinet, profibus
  • Knowledge of Grafcet and Ladder programming language
  • Ability to understand a process functionality and translate it into a software programing note
  • Ability to write and defined test sheet for Program factory acceptance test and Site commissioning
  • Develop and evaluate automation project scope of work and request for proposals.
  • Develop automation technical specification, and technical guidelines according to standards and good engineering practice.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, and validate PLC program
