Job description

As Back End Developer you will be responsible for implementing new and improving current services of Extra Horizon, our medical Backend-as-a-service.

Your mission

• Make an impact on the lives of an ever increasing amount of people by further improving our medical application.
• Strengthen our highly-skilled, cross functional agile team with your technical expertise and critical eye for improvements.
• Implement new functionalities, write unit tests, conduct code reviews, safeguard code quality, and participate in stand-ups & scrum meetings.
• Take ownership as a team to aim for qualitative releases that bring true value to our customers and communicate proactively.
• Explore novel technologies that could help us achieve our goals better.

Your profile

• You are a hands-on developer.
• You are self-organised, can work independently, but don’t hesitate to reach out to and collaborate with your team members.
• You strive in an open, positive culture of continuous improvement, challenge the status quo, demonstrate risk taking and implement creative ideas.
• You are skilled in:
• JavaScript/Node.js/TypeScript
• NoSQL databases (MongoDB, …)
• Building scaleable and performant microservices on AWS Serverless
• RESTful API design and implementation
• Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) e.g. GitHub Actions
• New technologies e.g. for asynchronous service-to-service communication in microservice architectures
• Developing medical devices (considered a plus)
• You are a team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills, fluent in English.
