St Andrew’s is a 240-bed facility with eleven state of the art operating theatre suites and with over 30,000 procedures being performed each year we cater for most surgical specialties including, but not limited to, cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, vascular, urology, colorectal, orthopaedics, breast and gynaecology and the busiest (da Vinci) Robotics unit in Australia.
About The Role
This is a Level 2 position and you will be responsible for the day-to-day monitoring of standards of nursing practice in relation to patient care, teamwork, patient safety and the utilisation of equipment and consumables within the ENT clinic.
Work hours will be negotiated with the successful candidate, although the desired hours are 60 hours per fortnight across Monday - Friday. On-call and weekend standby shifts are expected.
About You
Our preferred candidate will be a Registered Nurse with significant experience as a scrub/scout nurse in the ENT specialty. The position requires the ability to work autonomously and lead as a senior member of the clinical team.
In Addition, You Will Need To Demonstrate
- Ability to legally live and work in Australia at time of application
- Current registration with AHPRA
- Relevant and recent experience as a scrub/scout nurse (ENT preferably)
- Strong organisation and prioritisation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both Medical Officers and nurses
- A commitment to delivering best practice patient care.
- An interest in mentoring and educating our up and coming Theatre Nurses
Relevant Post Graduate qualifications will be highly regarded.
