One of our Blue Chip Clients is urgently looking for a Cloud DBA.

For this role it’s MANDATORY you work onsite in Brussels 2 days per week every week and you can work remote 3 days per week.

Database Administrator (DBA)

Working in a team environment providing a DBA (Data base administrator) function supporting both Project and Live Service teams.

As part of the Infrastructure team you will be working together with our current project DBA team to setup technical processes to migrate databases to major cloud platforms. You will ensure that quality is delivered, new standards are created, maintained and understood by all stakeholders. A proper handover from project to support group is an essential part of this role.

You Will Be Responsible For

Technical evaluation of existing cloud environment

Building of new cloud environments

Migration of on-premise databases and workloads

Setup of standard processes for maintenance, monitoring etc.

The candidate Cloud DBA will be able to demonstrate the following technical competencies:

Strong knowledge of cloud databases and services on AWS & Azure

Strong knowledge of SQL Server suite of products and at least one other database technology

Knowledge of languages for automation such as Powershell and for infrastructure as code such as Terraform

Windows Server knowledge essential

Good understanding of infrastructure components such as monitoring, virtualization, storage provisioning and networking

Oral and written communication skills

Analytical thinking and problem solving

Nice To Have

Snowflake, Azure Analysis Services, Data Factory

GitHub or other CI/CD applications

Data replication technologies such as Infomatica or QLIK

Experience

The candidate will be able to demonstrate past experience

Database Administrator in infrastructure area for both on-premise systems and in cloud environment

Experience in using AWS and Azure database services such as RDS and Azure SQL

Work in a large and complex environment

Hybrid working is accepted, with around 2 days per week in the Office (Brussels)
