OverviewField Service Controls Engineer - BelgiumWe are looking for an enthusiastic Controls Engineer who will be responsible for the implementation and support of JBT equipment built and supported in Sint Niklaas Belgium.   • You will travel to our customers to install and commission JBT equipment and have a strong focus on the automation part of the project.
  • We require a good knowledge of onboard electrical systems and for someone to have the skill to carry out installation, diagnostic and corrective tasks.
  • A basic understanding of mechanical systems and procedures which allow you to assist our mechanically skilled engineers.
  • Preferably you will also have a basic understanding of thermal processes which allows you to understand the working principles of a wide range of our equipment, but we can train you on this so its not a deal breaker.
  • Something that is super important is to have a person with a strong affinity with both Siemens and Allen Bradley automation platforms (PLC / HMI / optional Servo) which will also allow you to carry out field related automation tasks such as ..
  • Basic actions such as up/downloading, restoring, backup etc
  • Diagnostics and trouble shooting
  • Functional and operational checks (related to the automation part)
  • Assisting our customers remotely through on-line connections using your strong communication and administration skills will allow take action from the field service reports.
  • By being a team player and sharing your knowledge and experience with other members of the Service-team we will grow stronger, enabling us to deal with increasing demand for iOPS implementations/solutions.
  • We would like someone who is eager to assist our automation engineering design team with the building and developing of new products too, by providing feedback from the control’s aspect of our machinery
  • As well as having and developing your technical capability, all our Engineers are required to have great customer care skills, so that you can work as a technical ambassador for JBT, whilst caring for our customers and add true value to their business.   • Expert knowledge of industrial electrical controls coupled with electronical drive systems and use of Simotion and kinetix software experience (but these are not a deal breaker - it the industrial electrical controls knowledge that’s important to us)
  • Knowledge of Siemens TIA portal Step7 / Rockwell
  • Good communication and planning skills
  • If you have a Technical Bachelor or Master’s degree in an engineering field then great!
  • We would like at least 5 years direct experience in industrial controls/automation design, preferably in electronical synchronized drive systems but will accept less if you can demonstrate knowledge, skill and the right attitude
  • Dutch language and fluent English
