Description of the function

You will join our technical team. As a DevOps engineer and expert in Cloud engineering, you will be working on the business applications, the corporate software and the infrastructure of the healthdata.be technical suite.

Your main focus will be to support the growth of our infrastructure, which is based on an exciting and constantly evolving technology stack. You will be working in collaboration with our engineers, data scientists and architects, and your mission will be to design, implement and maintain our deployment pipelines, databases, clusters, and running instances.

You will also be expected to take initiative on the usage of any other technology that would be beneficial for our infrastructure.

You will also take up the role of lead of the subteam of Devops Engineers which consists of 4 people.

This subteam is part of the datacollection team which is led by the team lead datacollection.

In practice, this is more about steering the engineers and less about a real management role.

Facilitating the development process and operations
Identifying setbacks and shortcomings
Designing efficient practices
Delivering comprehensive best practices
Managing and reviewing technical operations
Focusing on Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD)
Decommissioning servers and IT environments ·
Automation, Improvement of processes & procedures and assuring compliance to guidelines and standards
Advising on new technologies
Reporting on KPI’s
Writing and maintenance of technical documentation
Mentoring other DevOps engineers

Expected Profile

Experience with release & build management processes (application lifecycle management)
Evaluation and adoption of new solutions and technologies
Great communicator and good in taking ownership, willing to coach juniors
Able and willing to produce quality documentation (functional and technical), understand our specific requirements well
Very good knowledge of DevOps & CI/CD. (AWS, Docker, Jenkins) ;
Deep understanding of cloud solution architecture ;
Proven experience with microservices based architecture ;
Experience of 5 years as Devops Engineer
Experience in the following technology: SQL, MongoDB , Ansible, Git (5), Angular, Hadoop
Very good knowledge and experimented on Java and on Linux (preferably Ubuntu)
Experience with private cloud & Public cloud
Fluent in English. French/Dutch are a plus.

Nice to have :
Kubernetes
Very good knowledge of Java and different frameworks such as Spring
