Jobinhalt

The docking support engineers function as a service platform to the vessel teams, docking teams and to the procurement department. You are a Technical Expert with regards to Major Repairs of vessels and will play a supporting role in the preparation of these projects.

Your responsibilities

  • Review of Technical Specifications to deliver a high quality tender package to the Procurement Department for tendering purpose;
  • Afterwards also compare the tenders received from the shipyards;
  • Report the final outcome to of the tender to the management;
  • Based on experience and knowledge provide support to the junior preparation engineers with regards to planning, working methods, etc;
  • Evaluate method statements provided by the shipyard;
  • Provide support to the Project manager during the negotiation with the shipyard;
  • Follow up on the selected shipyards by guiding and executing audits, reviewing their past performances and analyze variation orders.

Your profile

  • Engineering degree in a relevant field like electromechanics or maritime engineering;
  • First experience in ship repair and/or maintenance and repairs of vessels;
  • Experience with dredging and offshore vessels is a plus;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Good teamworking skills;
  • Able to communicate correctly in English.
