The activities of KBC Group have a certain impact on environmental issues: global warming and climate change, deforestation and biodiversity, water pollution, waste, etc.

We want to reduce our direct and indirect ecological footprint ànd stimulate our clients to do the same. Translating this ambition to our policies, that - in a nutshell - is your mission as one of our environmental experts.

You help us to conduct business in a sustainable way. Not only is that a necessity for our planet. It’s also important for our organisation. Because it allows us to maintain the trust of our clients, our employees, our shareholders and regulators.

• You get to the bottom of the EU Taxonomy regarding different domains: climate change, biodiversity, water and waste management, circular economy, etc. Focussing on important sectors like construction, energy, metals and the chemical sector.
• You advise the business entities of KBC Group regarding these domains and help them to analyse their impact on our business activities.
• You proactively stimulate different entities of KBC Group to embrace opportunities to reduce our ecological footprint.
• Through your advice, you help our clients - private persons and corporates - to transition to a more sustainable economy.
• You raise awareness within our organisation regarding environmental issues and the risks they entail. You also proactively tackle these risks, specifically for the domains and/or sectors of your focus.
