As Functional Safety Validation Engineer you will validate the functional safety concepts developed and implemented by your colleagues according to the ISO26262 standard, system specifications and customer requirements for an innovative and highly competitive mass produced hybrid E-drive.
Job Description
- The functional safety concept is developed according to the Model Based Development process (V-cycle) with Simulink following the ISO26262 standard.
- You will focus on validating this functional safety concept within the overall controls software.
- You will make test plans and write and execute test cases & -scenario’s based on the requirements to validate the functional safety concept on HIL, test bench and in vehicle.
- You will analyze why tests fail and then align with control software developers or calibration engineers how the problems can be solved.
- Although functional safety software developers are the function owners, you will play an active role in suggesting software or calibration fixes.
- You will investigate hardware-software or system integration problems and try to come up with solutions.
- You will maintain the controls test vehicles to make sure that they are up and running with the correct SW’s and calibration of all the involved control units that matches with the installed hardware.
- You will analyze test data and document results and findings in test reports.
- You will also provide first line support to other teams who use the software for development and testing activities. This can be internal test and validation team, calibration team, EOL at the customer production line, vehicle commissioning activities.
- You need to have a basic understanding of the controls software and in particular the functional safety concept to be able to do a first analysis to resolve the problem yourself or involve other controls specialists where needed.
- You will spend a lot of time at the testbenches or in the vehicles.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in the field of Automotive, Mechatronics, Systems, Controls, Computer or Electrical Engineering
- 3+ years of experience in automotive or related field, preferably in vehicle testing or functional safety, is an asset.
- Knowledge of functional safety (ISO 26262) and AUTOSAR standard.
- Knowledge of vehicle communication systems e.g. CAN, XCP, Flexray, LIN, UDS etc.
- Experience with data acquisition and analysis tools (e.g. CANape, CANalyzer, INCA etc.).
- Experience with dSPACE Hardware-in the-Loop (HIL) test systems using Control Desk.
- Knowledge of Matlab/Simulink.
- You proceed according to a good methodology in development and problem solving.
- You are well organized and have strong analytical and communication skills.
- You are an excellent team player and enjoy coming to the site on a daily basis.
- You have knowledge about UDS services (RC, WDBI & RDBI) & OBD standards
