To support the development of its technical mobility department, John Cockerill – Green Hydrogen is looking for an Electrical, Instrumentation and Automation Engineer – EAI (Electrical & Control Engineer) (m/f). He/she will join a team, based in Seraing (Liège) that is being structured and trained to meet the challenge of green mobility.

Main responsibilities of the Electrical, Instrumentation and Automation Engineer – EAI:

Reporting to the H2 Mobility Technical Manager, The EAI will design and build complex electrical and automated systems (electrical cabinets, command control, supervision, safety functions, etc.) in critical environments.

Responsibilities

The EAI engineer will be responsible for the definition of electrical components, some instruments, and the development of the control system of our hydrogen stations

  • Reading the customer’s specifications
  • Establishment of basic design documents (motor list, instrument list, I/O list, for power and control cables, etc.)
  • Preparation of the preliminary supplier consultation file
  • Clarification of the scope and interfaces with suppliers, while considering local regulations and the specific needs arising from them

The EAI will also act as an automation and control specialist and will be able to dimension the following equipment:

  • PLC and DCS (Machine Control)
  • Basic Process Control System & Safety Control System
  • SCADA (Supervisory control and data acquisition) system
  • Energy Management System

In Addition, The EAI will:

  • Select and manage subcontractors involved in the development of the HRS and draft the required technical specifications to be able to follow up the vendors
  • Design and develop all control systems for mobility projects
  • Define and implement the architecture and programming.
  • Work on the drafting of the documentation necessary for the design, manufacture/programming/parameterisation, integration, commissioning, and use of the equipment. (Protocol table, etc.)
  • Drawing up the technical specifications based on the functional specifications
  • Write technical documentation, advise, and train users and operators
  • Participate in technical and financial negotiations concerning control systems

The ideal candidate for the Electrical, Instrumentation and Automation Engineerposition has the following profile:

  • An Industrial Automation engineer (software) with a background in electrical engineering (hardware)
  • +/- 5 years of relevant experience in a in a highly technological and demanding environment.
  • Academic knowledge and preferably practical familiarity with at least one of the following technical domains:
  • PLCs (Schneider, Siemens, Rockwell, Phoenix Contact, Emerson).
  • SCADA solutions (PCVue, Citect, Intouch, RSView, WinnCC, Topkapi, Panorama)
  • Programming languages (Structured Text, C/C++, Ladder, Step7, TIA, etc.) and their implementation in the various brands mentioned above.
  • Autonomous, initiative taker and willing to take and carry responsibilities.
  • Excellent social and communication skills:
  • Argumentation and presentation skills.
  • Project management skills. with the ability to interact effectively with external stakeholders and throughout various functions and hierarchical levels.
  • Tact, diplomacy, respect, and the ability to adapt to people at all levels in an organization.
