Head of Data

At Winamp, we are looking for an experienced data leader to join us as our Head of Data.

You’ll be responsible for setting up the data vision, for formalizing data architecture and governance, for extracting and transforming data in order to drive business decisions and growth.

You will need to build your Data team and scale it as needed.

In this role you will partner closely with other leaders to define Winamp’s overall data strategy according to the organization’s and business needs. You will work with various departments to collect, prepare, organize, protect, and analyze data assets.

Your responsibilities:

• Build the Winamp’s data foundation and ensure that it is scalable, performant, and secure.
• Overseeing the collection, aggregation, transformation, storage, management, quality Mgmt., and protection of data.
• Lead the overall data architecture and modelization.
• Implement, lead, and manage data architecture, performance dashboards, strategic decision making with advanced data analysis tools.
• Implementing data privacy policies and complying with data protection regulations.
• Build your own team by attracting top-notch data talent. Your will develop your team on three main axes:
  • Winamp for Creators (the Artist platform side of Winamp);
  • Winamp Player;
  • Data governance, flows and processes across Winamp.
• Foster innovations to increase revenue and cut costs based on insights derived from data.

Your profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or mathematics / statistics or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• +10 years experience in a data management role.
• Management experience with leadership and communication skills.
• Project management skills.
• Analytically minded.
• Proven track record in data management, leadership, and information technology systems.
• Strong background in IT.
• Solid knowledge of enterprise architecture framework (e.g. Togaf)
• Experienced in any EA modelling tool (Archimate, Enterprise Architect, …)
• Experience with multi-business & multi-platform models, or with high volume and complex transactional and financial data flows, requiring the right level of aggregation (from music track level to artist label accounting).
• Proven track record in data strategy, data architecture, data modeling (flows & master data) and governance.
• Able to make the stretch between theory (e.g. Togaf model) and pragmatic solutions (e.g. flow.io modeling) in synch with the product vision.
