We make what matters work.The HR Officer will provide guidance, assistance and support in developing and maintaining a cohesive and productive workforce to the Eaton Filtration Plant in Sint-Niklaas.In this role you will support operations by implementing and administering a full scope of human resources plans and activities that contribute to organizational excellence and promote positive employee relations. These activities involve the performance of diverse human resources duties in the areas of staffing, compensation, training, performance management, work culture improvement, employee communications and other business/employee-related activities.Main Responsabilities
  • Create and maintain a relationship with site leadership teams at all levels of the organization, acting as a business partner
  • Develop and deploy HR strategies to manage talent, drive the culture, and align the organization for a small plant
  • Lead the recruitment and staffing processes to ensure the hiring of highly skilled and talented individuals, supporting plant operations through planning headcount and succession planning
  • Participate in driving the Eaton Business System (EBS), including the HR Operating Review, Operational Assessment, Lean and other core organizational initiatives to ensure standardized, high quality processes throughout Sint-Niklaas
  • Ensure that the Sint-Niklaas plant complies with all legal and regulatory requirements, relevant employment legislation, and company policies. Implement local HR policies and procedures in alignment with EBS.
  • Ensure proper and effective personnel administration and reporting, e.g., headcount, time and attendance, payroll. Administer compensation, benefit and performance processes in partnership with Eaton Compensation
  • Identify the learning, training, and development needs of the organization and support effective delivery and evaluation of training
  • Build managers’ leadership capability, using coaching skills to influence behavior and business decisions to be consistent with our values and ethical standards. Ensure effective deployment and utilization of performance management systems and work as a partner with managers throughout the process
  • Comply with the policies, procedures, and expectations outlined by Eaton’s Management System for the Environment, Safety, Security, and Health (MESH) and Quality Management System
QualificationsQualifications:
  • Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration from an accredited institution
  • At least 5 years of HR generalist experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
  • Fluency in Dutch and English
  • Familiarity with Belgian labor law
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of experience as an HR decision maker (e.g., manager of people, leader of site)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and/or Oracle HRMS
  • Prior work experience in a US multinational company
Position Criteria
  • Specialized knowledge of Belgian law, the interpretation of laws, and the applicable regulations, standards, and enforcement agencies
  • Strong labor relations skills, including labor law knowledge, contract negotiations & daily contract administration
  • Ability to understand, interpret and easily communicate and align policies and practices to the Eaton Leadership Model and Code of Ethics
  • Demonstrate discretion, able to work with sensitive and confidential materials and possess good business judgment
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, while also able to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal across a wide audience
  • Proven ability to deal with conflict and diffuse difficult situations
  • Strong hands-on mentality and organizational skills to include time management, manpower planning and wage/salary/benefits planning
  • Independent and self-motivated with initiative and willingness to learn
