IT SERVICE OPERATIONS EXPERT - DATA ANALYST

As a IT SERVICE OPERATIONS EXPERT you will support our IT operations team at our location in Puurs. You will be trusted to manage IT operations for systems, tools and applications, ensuring their stability and integrity, while meeting customer service levels.
Next to this, you will support business users for all IT applications and create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture, as well as optimize data collection flow. You do this by identifying, designing, and implementing internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability.
In this role, a typical day will include:
Support systems
  • Oversee end-to-end delivery of dedicated systems, tools or application and ensure its stability, integrity and business continuity.
  • Troubleshoot, identify and diagnose system and application errors, perform system analysis and identify changes as appropriate.
  • Work with team members and business stakeholders to develop, document and refine system processes for potential improvements, to maintain system integrity and to track and manage lifecycle of incidents
  • Accountable to ensure adherence with Security and Compliance policies and procedures within Operations Expert service scope.
  • Review and approve Risk Management Summaries, Validation Assessments, Validation Protocols and reports for the IT function.
Data analytics
  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements and work with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in holistic data systems.
    • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS big-data technologies.
  • Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into manufacturing processes, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.
  • Develop and design data segmentation to keep company data separated and secure across national boundaries through multiple data centers and AWS regions.

Participation in projects
  • Participate in design reviews and provide input to the design recommendations; incorporate security requirements into design; and provide input to information/data flow, and understand and comply with ICE/Agile Project Life Cycle Methodology in all planning/execution steps.
  • Document detailed application specifications (User Requirement Specifications, Functional Specifications and System Design Specifications), translate technical requirements into programmed application modules and develop/enhance software application modules.
  • Actively participate in and/or lead continuous improvement activities, defining and implementing the changes required to create an industry-leading electronic data management and analytics capability.
  • Review and approve all necessary assessments, protocols and reports for related systems
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
  • Bachelor / Masters Degree in computer science or Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Holding relevant IT qualifications (Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA) or related Engineering Degree
  • >5 years’ experience in a Medical Device or Pharma Industry in an IT or large computer / Data based Role.
  • Strong experience in MS Office or Office 365 (specifically Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Good experience in Microsoft SQL Server development, administration, and good knowledge of relational databases.
  • Good experience in Microsoft Operating Systems
  • Experience with AWS cloud services: EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift.
  • Experience with object-orientated / object function script languages: R, Python, Java, C++, VB.Net
  • Experience with stream-processing systems: Storm, Spark-Streaming etc..
  • Working knowledge of Logical and Physical Data Modeling concepts
  • Demonstrated experience working with a project team to develop a design, technical solution, and ultimately to implement high quality technical solutions
  • Demonstrated ability prioritizing and managing development and implementation of enhancements/changes to multiple applications
  • Proven ability overseeing Deployment and Release Management including the final production acceptance review and signoff
  • Knowledge of version and revision control practices and procedures
  • Excellent English communications skills, both oral and written; proven ability in technical writing. Dutch language skill is preferred
