European Schoolnet is currently looking for a Java Developerto join its technical team and work on educational web applications, backend services and communities using Liferay.
PROFILE AND SKILLS
The right candidate should possess:
  • Good mastery of Java SE and Java EE (version 11+)
  • Good understanding of object-orientation (OO programming concepts, UML, design
  • patterns)
  • Good methodology skills (SVN, ANT/Maven/Gradle, Unit testing)
  • Be both a team player and able to work autonomously
  • Be able to work fluently in English
  • Experience in developing and debugging production web applications with JSP

In addition, any of the following skills would be a plus:

  • Experience with HTML (5) / CSS / JavaScript / jQuery
  • Experience with templating engines (ex: Velocity, FreeMarker)
  • Experience with Portal technologies (JSR 168-JSR 286)
  • Experience with Liferay 6 or higher
  • Experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL
  • Experience with XML and JSON technology
  • Experience with REST / Play framework / Go programming language
USEFUL INFORMATION
  • The selected candidate will be offered a full-time permanent contract and a remuneration package including meal vouchers, hospitalisation insurance and training opportunities.
  • Location: European Schoolnet, Rue de Treves, 61, Brussels, Belgium.
