We are currently looking for a Manager Strategic Decarbonization Programme TUI Airline to lead the setup of the newly launched Strategic Partnership Program (SPP) TUI Airline that focuses on driving airline decarbonization forward. The purpose of this program is to secure access to state of the art (zero-emission) technologies and develop an Aviation Sustainability Lab within TUI Airline. In this role, you’ll report to the Director of Transformation & Change. In this role, you’ll report to the Director of Transformation & Change.*This role can be based in Luton, Stockholm, Rijswijk, Zaventem or Hanover.**The position is part-time (20 hrs/ week). The distribution of the working hours can be decided on a case-by-case basis.About The Job
  • Set up the Strategic Partnership Programme TUI Airline within the existing internal structure of TUI Airline.
  • Develop a strategy and take over responsibilities for driving TUI’s external partnerships with research institutes, NGOs, startups, public and private organizations in the aviation space.
  • Develop the Aviation Sustainability Lab in TUI Airline to identify relevant strategic pillars (e.g. sustainable infrastructure, future propulsion systems), support the determination of priorities for each pillar and guide the implementation of research/innovation efforts.
  • You will screen opportunities from the market and communicate those through the business in collaboration with your team, create a pipeline of promising sustainable technologies and make sound recommendations to the management about initiatives that should be prioritized.
  • Provide strategic input into the development of the business, act as an advisor about sustainability topics and ensure that an awareness is created across all stakeholders about steps that have to be taken to reach sustainability targets with focus on environment.
  • You have to have the ability to make complex issues understandable for all stakeholders as you will prepare for and attend key stakeholder forums including Boards and Steering Group meetings.
  • You will be responsible for putting in place and preparing regular reporting’s for various board or Steering Group meetings to show the progress and impact of initiatives brought forward through the program.
  • Identify, resolve and escalate as appropriate any issues / risks to delivery, and manage dependencies tightly to ensure targets set within the program or by the business can be achieved.
  • Put appropriate program governance in place, set up and report into those governance groups on a regular basis with recommendations on any required decisions, as well as on the status of opportunities, risks and dependencies.
  • Design and lead change in TUI Airline while ensuring high delivery standards and performance of supporting members.
  • Embrace and input into the wider Group Airline strategy to ensure the requirements for our source markets, customers and airlines are met and that you are aligned to the wider vision.
  • Lead a strategic partnership support team
About You
  • Demonstrable record of delivering results in improving customer satisfaction and profit through creative thinking and bringing new products and services to market
  • Proven work experience in a Customer Experience function
  • Experience of Business Case construction and submission & budget management delivery
  • A proven track record of motivating teams, implementing change and performance management initiatives
  • Strong intercultural communication and influencing skills
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships across all levels of staff
  • Able to influence at senior management and board level
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills
  • Experienced in defining KPIs, data analysis and interpretation of data to identify trends and opportunities
  • Strong understanding of aircraft onboard operations and crew service and operational requirements
  • Role requires strong business English, both spoken and written, additional language skills would be appreciated
