With a culture where relationships matter; we are focused on delivering quality health care and exemplary customer service. Located on the edge of Adelaide’s CBD adjacent to the beautiful South Eastern Park Lands, St Andrew’s performs over 40,000 procedures each year. Building on our successful base, in 2018 we completed a $50 million expansion of our clinical facilities with more improvements planned for 2021 and beyond.
The Human Resources Division is a small team of HR and WHS professionals who are committed to supporting our leaders to create working environments for Hospital employees that are engaging, safe, and supportive. With a strong focus on continuous improvement, we are dedicated to providing exceptional customer service to internal stakeholders and partnering with leaders.
About The Role
We are seeking a self-motivated, well-organised professional with a background in the delivery of manual handling training and coaching, to join our team in the role of Manual Handling Trainer. This is a new role that forms a key part of our workplace injury prevention strategy.
The St Andrew’s leadership team is committed to ensuring our staff are educated, equipped and supported to perform their roles in the safest way possible. This position supports this commitment through the delivery of formal training and on-the-job coaching for clinical and non-clinical staff on safe manual handling techniques. As an experienced trainer and coach, you will work closely with leaders across the Hospital to design and deliver training that is tailored to their needs and aligned with incident and injury trends.
This is a hands-on role that will work closely with our WHS team to deliver proactive and responsive injury prevention programs and strategies. The role will also assist our claims manager in the support of injured workers returning to the workplace.
Working within a close knit, supportive team environment, we offer the right person the opportunity to make this role their own. You will have the opportunity to impact the lives of our employees by supporting them to “Work Safe, Care Safe”.
Hours
This role is offered initially on a permanent part-time basis up to 30 hours per fortnight, with flexibility of hours to suit business needs and personal availability. Occasional weekend and night shifts may be required to accommodate training needs for our staff.
About You
The successful candidate will have tertiary qualifications in physio or occupational therapy (or a relevant discipline), and experience in training and coaching people within clinical and non-clinical settings on safe manual handling techniques. A Certificate IV (or higher) in Workplace Training and Assessment would be advantageous, as would experience within a hospital or health care setting.
You will be highly self-motivated and able to work independently, with a resourceful and ‘can do’ approach, and exceptional customer service skills.
