Materials Controller PB

As Plant-Based Materials Controller, you become a member of the Operations Controlling team, that is responsible for the monthly COGS reporting and forecasting. You report to the Sr. Materials controller. Together with your manager, you add value by analyzing financial information and by providing advise based on your analysis. You use your financial insights to help and challenge the business in making decisions and for ad hoc analysis and projects which have a financial impact.

As a member of the overall financial community of Alpro and the Operations Controlling team in particular, predominantly based in Belgium, you will have frequent contacts with your colleagues in the central finance departments and in Dantrade.

• As a business partner, you are responsible with this team to provide accurate management information to our counterparts in the Procurement Organization, supporting them in day-to-day business decisions and giving ad hoc financial advice.
• Together with the Sr. Materials Controller, you are responsible for the full financial control of the material cost for Alpro. This includes all ingredients, packaging and copacking activities. In close cooperation with the divisional Procurement Department, you execute monthly reporting on price and mix variances and follow-up the results of reformulation projects. Furthermore, you calculate expected material costs for rolling forecast and annual budget. You understand all the assumptions that are used for the standard cost price updates and you gather all the data.
• You coordinate monthly reporting on scrap and blocked stock for all production entities and make sure underlying processes are followed in order to provide accurate data.
• Together with other team members you make sure that standard costprices and transfer prices for new products are calculated on a daily basis
• As part of the team, you will accountable for timely periodic reporting of certain information directly towards corporate Danone headquarters, and you will obtain the necessary information from the system or stakeholders. Your main responsibilities here will be all reporting related to BOM Costs, while supporting your colleagues in reaching the overall corporate reporting deadlines.
• You have a drive and critical mind to constantly aim at improving underlying processes both in your department and in the broader Operations environment to make operations more effective and reliable.
• You proactively analyze performance of the organization in certain fields and make recommendations resulting in the formulation of concrete action plans. Afterwards, you monitor the realization & progress.
• You are first point of contact for ad hoc analysis and projects with financial impact with your responsibility areas.
• You support other team members where needed in relation to the joint objectives of the team and in reaching the deadlines.

To be able to achieve the above and be successful in this role we believe you need to have:

• You have a Master Degree in Finance, Economics, or similar.
• You have at least 2-3 years of relevant experience within Finance, preferably in Operations Controlling or in Topline (Commercial /FP&A).
• You have strong analytical skills and a critical mindset, combined with strong communication skills. Bringing the story around the numbers is your second nature.
• You are a real team-player and you have good interpersonal skills.
• You are stress resistant, constructive and customer oriented.
• You have a true growth mindset: you are open, eager to learn and to combine a wide variety of operational & strategic tasks, from a very detailed to a helicopter view.
• You are accurate and digitally savvy (SAP, excel, etc.); experience with reporting environments like BI-systems or consolidation packages is a plus.
• You are fluent in English. Dutch is a strong asset.
