The Tubize site, which employs more than 200 people, is one of the Group’s competence centers specializing in the design, development and supply of critical information systems for all types of platforms used by customers in the Defense, Security (including Cyber Security), Aeronautics and Transportation sectors.

Mission

Thales Belgium "Mechanical, Electrical Layouting and Prototyping Group" is responsible for the support to the design and the development of hardware products for both Military and Civil applications incorporating mechanical, analogue RF, digital and signal processing technologies. The Group is also responsible for the technical support of the production activities located on Tubize site. The Group is currently looking for a Mechatronics designer for products development and production activities.

Main Responsibilities

• You will be under the responsibility of the mechanical team leader
• You participate in design reviews for the purpose solution.
• Analyze problems to see how mechanical, electrical and thermal devices might help solve them
• Design or redesign mechanical and thermal devices or subsystems, using analysis and computer-assisted design, you will be working with Creo and will be in charge of the drawings and bill of materials of the parts you design
• Investigate equipment issues to diagnose faults and recommend solutions
• In your future project, you will be in contact with a system engineer and you will propose mechanical solution meeting customer requirements and deadlines, you will have to work in cooperation with layout engineer, component engineer
• Develop and test prototypes of devices they design, you will be in contact with a prototyping teams that will manufacture some of the parts you will design before the design is frozen
• Analyze the test results and change the design or system as needed
• Oversee the manufacturing process for the device in cooperation with the purchasing department you will be in contact with multiple suppliers covering a broad range of technologies
• You will work inside an enthusiast multi-discipline engineering team which will give you the opportunity to evolve and enlarge your skills.
• As member of a multinational company you will meet international engineers and experts of the group.
• Your work will be performed considering high level international standards and in-house quality procedures (ISO and Civil Aviation standards).
  

Profile

Education

• Master or Bachelor in Electro mechanics or equivalent through experience
• 3 or more years of experience in hardware and mechanical development
• The candidate should be fluent in French, Dutch or English. Strong knowledge of French and English is required.

• Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems and products
• Advanced mathematics skills

• Strong technical writing ability
• Skill in working with engineering and computer-assisted design software (PTC Creo)
