Our Advanced Suspension Technologies Business is looking for a Mechatronics Engineerto join our team in St-Truiden, Belgium.
The Mechatronics Engineer has a solid knowledge in the technical field, works with the Algorithm Development Engineers to develop control algorithms for Tenneco’s Advanced Suspension Technologies (e.g., CVSA, Kinetic). The Mechatronics Engineer is responsible for preparing technology vehicles that will be used to develop/demonstrate these technologies; specifies the control systems and their installation, ensures the proper build and commissioning of these vehicles.
Job responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with program management requirements, quality requirements and all applicable EHS standards/regulations.
- Integrate customer-specific technical specifications into product/ process system designs.
- Identify potential product liability issues and take appropriate action.
- Recognize patent ability of concepts/designs and potential infringement of new product designs to existing patents (e.g. intellectual property issues)
- Analyse/evaluate conformance to standards of product/process/ system designs and make recommendations for corrective actions. Identify opportunities for product and process improvements, standardization efforts or cost reduction.
- Support development of new suppliers and validate their products.
- Assures compliance with the required project timing using the appropriate tools, reports results on a regular base and takes the necessary actions towards supervisor when roadblocks occur in project.
What will make you successful:
- Master in mechatronics, electronics engineering or (electro-)mechanical engineering.
- Technical experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Hands-on experience with working on vehicle electrics/electronics and basic knowledge of vehicle electronics architecture
- Basic knowledge of in-vehicle networking protocols.
- Solid knowledge of programming, knowledge of model-based software design using Matlab/Simulink is a strong plus
- Experience with Controls Systems design and/or calibration methods and tools (e.g. Vector Canape).
- Fluency in English; German or French is a major plus
- Willingness to travel on an ad-hoc basis to visit customers abroad.
