Reporting to the Regional Plant Controller, the Plant Controller position is based in the Soignies plant located in Belgium. An integral member of the Soignies Plant Leadership Team, the role will be required to lead the finance function for the Soignies plant and to partner with the local Operations and Supply Chain team to ensure goals and objectives are met and to be the primary financial point of contact for the Soignies Plant Manager.
In this crucial role, you will:
be a business partner to the Plant Manager and take a proactive and lead role in the activities of plant operations.
Ensure complete and consistent financial reporting for the site, including the submission of the monthly reporting.
Drive the effectiveness of the Soignies Savings Tracker to support the execution of the productivity initiatives.
Lead the analysis of the various monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements including, but not limited to, capital, financial metrics, production losses, inventory adjustments and departmental expenses for the site.
Support the Plant Leadership Team to develop a pipeline of productivity improvements to include in future business plans and forecasts.
Lead and coordinate the annual operating plan (AOP) process for the site in line with MG-E requirements.
Lead and coordinate the quarterly forecasting and monthly risks and opportunities (R&O) processes.
Support the Plant Leadership Team to deliver the objectives of the site capital plan, by ensuring high quality justifications for AFE preparation and submission and a robust review process.
Play a key role in the continuous development and execution of the Soignies vision and strategic plan, including engaging the PLT in the key concepts, decision-making and reporting tools around EVA, profitability and free cashflow.
Lead the rollout of the Business Intelligence reporting projects to the Soignies site, in particular the self-service losses and expenses reporting through Cognos and the continued development of the quarterly forecasting and monthly R&Os process using Cognos.
Lead the improvement in the procure-to-pay process for Soignies site by supporting the indirect buyers and managers and driving the key indicators.
Lead the month end close process for Soignies to ensure the timely and accurate monthly reporting.
Identify and implement opportunities to optimize the month end close process.
Lead the SOX process for Soignies, as SOX site leader.
Maintain strong inventory controls, including accurate cycle counts
Strengthen controls on fixed assets to ensure compliance with the Avery Dennison Financial Handbook.
Review balance sheet reconciliations and proactively manage risks to ensure successful balance sheet reviews
Set objectives for the Soignies finance team, in line with the Soignies and MG-E finance strategies, and manage the performance of each direct report in the team.
Lead in a manner consistent with the Avery Dennison Leadership Principles.
Provide coaching and support for the Soignies finance team to help them achieve their development plans.
Select & hire personnel.
Provide feedback into the MG-E finance organizational planning / ELDR process.
Communicate MG-E and corporate policies, procedures and announcements.
Take responsibility to pursue professional development in line with development plan.
We are looking for the following profile:
Qualified accountant (CIMA or ICAEW), Educated to degree level.
You have a minimum of 5 years experience in financial roles.
You possess theability to work in a multi-functional, multi-site, multi-cultural environment.
You have excellent communication skills.
Fluency in French and English is essential and a working knowledge of another European language an advantage.
