As process engineer M&I Lab Thin Film Deposition, you will be responsible for the daily operation and governance of the cluster tool: setting-up tool monitoring procedures, creating deposition recipes, qualifying processes, making user guidelines, chair tool user meetings.

As process engineer, you will be responsible for the daily operation and governance of the cluster tool. Setting-up tool monitoring procedures, creating deposition recipes, qualifying processes, making user guidelines, chair tool user meetings, .... Besides process and user governance also the target and precursor governance from safety aspects, supplier relationship to effective installation will be part of your role, as well as basic HW interventions to maintain the tool in a good shape. Once the tool is operational and running smoothly, you will be involved in development projects in which you take ownership. You will be part of the Thin Films group that is responsible for the development, characterization, and optimization of material deposition processes serving a wide range of imec’s advanced semiconductor applications. This will allow you to come in contact with, build-up expertise in, and contribute to imec’s advanced materials research.

Who you are

  • You have a bachelor or master’s degree in engineering, Nanotechnology, ...
  • You are a professional with working experience (4-5 year), preferably in semiconductor technology or in a larger research facility
  • You have hands-on experience in maintaining and operating deposition tools
  • You have good knowledge of thin film deposition techniques
  • Knowledge of thin film characterization methods is an asset
  • You are a real team player and can easily integrate in an international team of professionals
  • You have strong organizational skills and show the flexibility to change between different projects according to changing priorities.
  • You like taking initiative, you are persuasive and assertive, while keeping a constructive attitude.
  • You have excellent English communication and reporting skills
