Our client is part of an international biopharmaceutical group. The Belgian site in the Vilvoorde region is a crucial operational link and expertise center within the group. Production capacity at the site is being systematically expanded to meet the growing demand for and diversification of the product range. In the Engineering Department, 30 engineers work on investment projects and (process-related) technological innovations that give direction and shape the present and future of the site.

In this growing Engineering Department, an engineer really leads investment projects from A to Z, namely from concept, scope, planning, basic and detailed design to construction, installation, commissioning, qualification, validation ... until the transfer to operations.

Job content

Within the engineering department, you will become a member of one of the discipline teams, such as "Clean & Black Utilities" (compressed air, various types of water, glycol, pure steam, industrial steam, Ethanol...) or "Process Equipment" (production equipment). Each team is, on the one hand, the knowledge carrier for the entire organization with regard to its technical discipline and, on the other hand, deals with process & project engineering of productivity and quality improvements, modifications of existing installations, expansions and new construction.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

- You lead projects with a size up to € 500,000 and you also participate in (sometimes multidisciplinary) projects of larger sizes.

- You determine the project scope in consultation with your internal client(s) and translate expectations into specifications.

- You are responsible for basic and detailed engineering design.

- You draw up schedules and you ensure timely delivery of the projects within budget.

- You ensure efficient communication with all internal stakeholders (internal customer, management) and external partners (suppliers, contractors, engineering firms...).

- Coordination of procurement activities and elaboration of requests for offers and tender dossiers.

- You perform risk analyses (HAZOP, FMEA).

- Coordinate and supervise the construction/installation of the equipment and perform the verification, qualification and validation tests.

- You ensure a complete as-built file and handover of the project to production and maintenance.

Desired profile

- Educational background: Master degree in industrial sciences or engineering sciences (industrial engineer, civil engineer or bioengineer), preferably in electromechanics, mechanical engineering...

- Experience with project management (tools) is indicated.

- Engineering experience in the pharmaceutical sector or in another quality-driven process industry is a nice advantage.

- You communicate fluently, persuasively and you are focused on collaboration.

- Good organizational skills.

- Knowledge of languages: English (very good) + Dutch or French.
