What you will be doing

As Program Lead decarbonization you will join a growing central corporate team dedicated to ensuring that Umicore delivers against its Environment Sustainability & Governance (ESG) ambitions and that sustainability continues to grow as a competitive advantage for Umicore.

You will:

• Work with highly motivated and knowledgeable corporate, technical and commercial profiles from across the Group, and with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with the ( a part of the) decarbonization program;
• Manage all aspects of Umicore’s decarbonization roadmap, centrally steering global project contributions to the decarbonization program, and developing a management system;
• Work closely with both the wider ESG Acceleration and ESG Strategy teams to ensure performance, efficiency, and communication of Umicore’s progress against the Let’s Go for Zero sustainability strategy.

The scope of the work is global and company-wide, and the position is based in our Brussels, Belgium headquarters. You will report to the Director ESG Acceleration.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a passionate and purposeful colleague with:

• An enthusiastic and collaborative team player who is meticulous and driven to achieve results.
• An effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills and organisational change experience.
• A technical background in energy transition with a strategic and solutions-oriented mindset.
• Excellent project and risk leadership skills, capable of flexibility and comfortable with shifting priorities.
• Working proficiency in English, other languages a plus.
• A master’s degree-level qualification in economics, sciences, or engineering.
• 5 to 10 years experience of sustainability in a technical and international project environment.
