Project Manager – Airline Applications

We are looking for a committed Project Manager – Airline Applications to lead global projects and systems to digitalize our airlines.Our projects with the maintenance and engineering teams are part of DPDHL’s Strategy 2025 “Delivering excellence in a Digital world”.

You will manage the analysis, testing and deployment of tools that create value and improve the lives of colleagues and customers. This role reports to the Airline Programs Manager and will be based in Diegem, Belgium.

As Global focal point, you steer all threads of the Digital Engineering web across our airline:

• Working at this global level you will manage functional and technical experts from all levels of the organization in describing requirements, selecting solutions and implementing systems
• You align and engage with your stakeholders throughout global projects and solutions, implemented in our airlines around the world
• Strong understanding of aviation and logistics is highly beneficial to be able to champion change, recognize the regulatory background and inherent complexity in a multi-airline environment
• You will lead and direct each project stage through Scoping, Analysis, Design, Testing and Implementation where you:
  • Articulate and write unambiguously about processes, functions and data
  • Handle a variety of implementation methods from agile, package to classic waterfall
  • Establish robust plans with business line managers, IT colleagues and external suppliers; address risks and resolve issues with a pragmatic mindset that retains engagement and delivers solutions
  • Take responsibility for overall progress and use of resources and initiate corrective actions where needed
  • Define and setup automated integrations between multiple airline systems
  • Steer end-user training and implementation tasks across the globe
• You create presentations and report status to the project boards, senior management and executives in the different stages of the projects
• You will perform day-to-day product management of the IT solutions after project go-live

• In possession of a Master degree or have equivalent industry experience
• Background with Aircraft Engineering/Maintenance, Project Management and/or IT. Experience in two of the three areas is essential
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a project or product manager role, related to IT or System projects able to manage the time/cost/quality/cybersecurity dimensions of a project and product
• In depth knowledge of an aircraft maintenance system (e.g.TRAX, AMOS…), preferably as Administrator or Project Implementation Lead
• Preferably knowledge of a Records/Document Management solution (e.g. Airvault, Stream...)
• Solid project management experience, ideally hold a PRINCE2 or PMP certification
• A problem solver who is able to think logically about systems and processes
• Distinct leadership skills with the ability to listen and act with limited oversight to bring the correct involved parties into play at the right time
• Excellent communicator who can present and argue in a very structured and concise manner at different levels of the organization
• Profound PC skills and IT aptitude including a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office products
• Working experience with JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow and a Test Management Tool (e.g. qTest…) is an advantage
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written
