This is a Senior Manager position and will report under the Project Management Organization (PMO) of Value Chain Management within Janssen Supply Chain. This role requires a dynamic leader who can collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional team members and Senior Leaders. A successful candidate will demonstrate experience in the successful delivery of multiple lifecycle management projects, such as product transfers, risk management, supplier qualifications, and/or portfolio optimization, as well as program and portfolio management. This role requires a high aptitude in the following skills: leadership, people management, project management methodologies & fundamentals (FPX preferred), data & project metric analysis, business process improvement, influencing, and senior leader communication. The selected individual will be highly focused and self-directed to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery of projects and/or programs in accordance with defined scope. The role may also include leading a team of internal and/or external FTEs who are executing project and/or program management activities. Project/Program Leadership: • With limited direction, lead cross functional project and/or program teams in a dynamic environment to identify, recommend and execute the best enterprise business solutions/propositions • Has the ability to be flexible in role and lead projects and/or programs across multiple workstreams • Ability to shape/manage/facilitate highly visible and complex strategic issue management initiatives that may be currently outside the PMO’s scope • Guide project and/or program teams through the development of strategies, options and business cases; Drive activities to meet project, program, and business objectives including approval of recommendations through governance. • Influence others beyond own scope and level; lead communications with all levels of stakeholders to enable informed decision making • Build strong cross-functional partnership and trust with key stakeholders across JSC, Commercial and R&D Organizations • Drive team accountability for deliverables and ensure projects and/or programs meet defined milestones • Demonstrate team performance management; ask the right questions to understand business impact and risks • Make the complex simple when presenting opportunities and plans to the team and organization • Lead team through options analysis and drive recommendations Facilitation & Risk Management: • Identify and recommend the best enterprise business proposition • Engage teams in healthy debate/conflict resolution, and deliver team aligned option business solutions • Proactively identify and escalate risks and issues to relevant stakeholders; lead development and delivery of tactical and achievable mitigation and contingency planning • Scope definitions and control: stakeholder alignment, project planning, resource and risk management, team development and communication • Lead prioritization and options analysis with teams • Lead teams in use of ongoing risk management & communication tools Project/Program Execution: • Develop, manage and maintain up-to-date timelines inclusive of all critical milestones, key interdependencies, financial commitments, and resource constraints, while applying appropriate scheduling techniques • Monitor status and execution; report timely updates via templates, dashboards and update forms; and develop agendas, minutes, metrics, etc. for the teams • Deliver transparent, timely and effective verbal and written communication to teams, stakeholders and appropriate levels of the organization • Lead "lessons learned" exercises, share lessons among project leaders and other teams Qualifications Required: A Bachelor’s Degree is required; degree concentration in Engineering, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Supply Chain, Business or a related discipline preferred A minimum of 8 years of relevant business experience Excellent oral, written, presentation communication skills Proven record of leading teams in delivering results Strong business and financial acumen Experience leading cross-functional teams Experience in new product introduction and/or life cycle project management Capability of leading/overseeing multiple projects at the same time This position may require up to 15% domestic and international travel. Preferred: Experience in a regulated industry Demonstrated enterprise-wide knowledge and/or experience working in a highly matrixed environment People management (direct reports) experience Project Management, Process Excellence or Six Sigma training/certification Demonstrated leadership & influencing skills across organizational levels Experience with standard PM tools and templates Exposure to an international working environment Experience shaping strategy in an ambiguous environment Additional Information: The anticipated base pay range for this position is $112,000-$168,500 USD. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
