The QC Analytical Science & Technology Project Lead Expert Scientist in Automation works within the local ASTI (Analytical Strategy & Technology Innovbation) Innovation & Automation teams included in Belgian QC.

In collaboration with the stakeholders (TRD, Global QC, MSAT, QC in the network, National Authorities...) and by bringing her/his own technical expertise, she/he will be responsible for the management of multiple innovative solutions to create the QC of the future lab technology implementation roadmap with laboratory automated solutions, to eliminate tedious, inefficient, and unsafe current analytical methods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Benchmarks/challenge specific technologies in own functional area to bring technology and analytical methods to state of the art.
  • Manage new technology implementation project from the purchase to the automated solution readiness.
  • Independently responsible for the conception, design, implementation of an automated system or new technology, and interpretation of scientific and technical data to support projects.
  • Performs analytical method development in the laboratory based on automation
  • Makes sound scientific / technical and business decisions based on a balance of data, analysis and experience. Authors and reviews technical protocols and reports in support of various projects.
  • Solves complex problems through collaborations with others (QC, MSAT, GQC, TRD, ARD,…), taking a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • Responsible for the appropriate standards of quality, housekeeping and safety being applied within the QC, in accordance with the quality framework, set standards in place to ensure consistency of results for the different methods used
  • Networks with other sites, Process Science, QC & with R&D (TRD) to speed-up investigation/improvements and leverage existing data.
  • Can spends part of his/her time to train analysts in his/her field of expertise and new technologies & acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience and coach/support the development of team members on analytical methods
Why you?

Basic Qualifications
  • PhD with 1+ years of post-doc and/or job-related experience MS with 5+ years of experience
  • Fluent in French and English
  • Minimum 4 years experiences in an analytical laboratory role
  • Broad knowledge of analytical techniques including method development & qualification/validation
  • Relevant experience in data interpretation and utilization, working knowledge of applied statistics essentials.
  • Good understanding of GMP’s
  • Good experience in project management
  • Ability to influence and negotiate at all levels of the organization to meet objective or deliverable
  • Excellent communication skills are necessary to meet needed mindset and behavioural changes within stakeholders that will be required by the business
  • Ability to drive change
  • Expertise in at least 2 or 3 laboratory automated solutions
Preferred Qualifications
  • Awareness of Quality by Design is a plus
  • An experience in PAT implementation and high throughput methodologies is a plus
